Best known for his work as an anchor for CBS Evening News, Bob Schieffer has been one of the most competent journalists in the American history. His birth name is Robert Lloyd Schieffer. H

e was born in 25th of February, 1937 in Austin, Texas. He has started his career as a journalist from 1960s. He has been in this field for almost 50 years.

He has gained both name and fame from this industry and still trying to get more attention from his audiences until today.

He is the graduate student of Texas Christian University. He is a brother of Tom Schieffer who is an American diplomat and has served the country by being US Ambassador to Australia as well as in Japan.

His notable credits are as the moderator in the popular TV show “Face the Nation,” CBS Evening News and 60 Minutes. From these TV shows, he became popular among the viewers.

In his youth, he has also joined the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps.
