Born on January 28, 1962, Sam Philips is a very popular American singer and songwriter who is 53 already. She is also famous as a composer and even an actress in the industry. Born in Glendale, California, she started her career in the field of contemporary Christan music but she was very much uncomfortable with that industry and image. The next album ‘Martinis and Bikinis’ released in 1994 was much praised by the music critics and was even nominated for a Grammy Award that was her second nomination. She was first nominated as Leslie Philips.
Later in 1995, she made her debut in acting with the blockbuster “Die Hard with a Vengeance” by Bruce Wills. She made an appearance in the movie ‘The End of Violence’ by Wim Wenders in 1997. She released a stripped down acoustic album named ‘Fan Dance’ signing with Nonesuch Records which also featured some part of her critically acclaimed song writing. She got married to the producer and musician, and her boyfriend, T- Bone Burnett after dating for a long time but due to some personal conflicts between the husband and wife, the relationship ended with a divorce. The couple has a daughter named Simone Burnett as their children.
