Martin Landau is an American actor of television, theatre as well as movies, a cartoonist as well as an acting tutor. Many significant landmarks have characterized his career, and most of them have been in those movies and TV shows that he has played. Martin was born on the 20th of June 1928 in Brooklyn, New York City, U.S.A. He was born as the son of a working class parents Selma and Morris Landau; and had a sister who was elder than him. His father was a technician, and had moved from Austria to USA; during the Second World War and was a Jew. Although Martin is an American, he has mixed European ethnicity of Austria, Poland and Russia. As a child, he attended the James Madison High School and developed his drawing skills to the next level.
He also did a course at the Pratt Institute before becoming a full time cartoonist. He began his career at the Daily News magazine, when he was only 17. He also began to work with cartoonist Gus Edson in a series of comic books named The Gumps and later the two worked for "Sunday strip". With a good career as a cartoonist, Marty developed a deep interest towards acting and after 5 years of work, left the Daily News to pursue his career as theatre actor.
