Ruth Wilson, born on January 13, 1982, is an English film as well as a television actress. She is best known for her for her roles in Jane Eyre, Luther, Saving Mr. Banks, The Lone Ranger and Suburban Shootout.

She appeared in many movies as well as TV shows in her career and is still active at the age of 34. She is two times Olivier Award winner and has been nominated for many other awards. She has a net worth of $3 million.

Ruth was born in Ashford, Surrey to Mary, a probation officer, and Nigel Wilson, an investment banker. She is not the only one in the family as she has three other elder brothers.

She is a granddaughter of the novelist and MI6 officer Alexander Wilson and his third wife, Alison. Ruth grew up in Shepperton, Surrey and was raised Catholic by her family.

She studied at Notre Dame School and sixth form at Esher College. She started her career by working as a model and later went to study history at the University of Nottingham and graduated from there in 2003.

She also attended a drama school at New Theatre in Nottingham and later graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the year 2005.

She also played in the TV miniseries remake of The Prisoner. Later from the year 2010 to 2013, she focused on appearing in the British psychological police drama named Luther as Alice Morgan who is a research scientist and highly intelligent sociopath.

Later after performing so well in the show, she was made the center of attraction in the show Luther. Her other movies works include Get Off My Land, A Real Summer, Small Island, Anna Karenina, etc.
