He was having a lot of success then he got an absolute gem of a chance. He got the opportunity to become the Congressional Correspondent for CNN. This had happened before he joined ABC News. 

Jonathan Karl was also very much interested in writing. A lot of his written work has already been published. Some of his works are The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor.

Adding to that list is The Weekly Standard and The New Republic. He has written a blog called The Note. The Note is a huge political blog and explains a lot about political situations. Jonathan has also written a book called The Right to Bear Arms: The Rise of America's Militias.

Jonathan has received awards like Joan Shorenstein Barone Award for his excellent work as a reporter. He was also awarded Emmy Award in the year 2009. He has also received Everett McKinley Award. The award was from the National Press Foundation. He won that award in 2001.
