Christopher Plummer was born as Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer on the 13th of December, 1929 (his current age is 85 years old) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

He was born as the only child to mother Isabella Mary and father John Orme Plummer. He is the descendant of former Prime Minister of Canada named Sir John Abbott, from his mother’s side.

He grew up in Montreal with his mother’s family after his parents got divorced, while he was still a kid.

As a child, he learned to play piano and was set to become a pianist, but after he discovered his love and passion for theaters and acting, his piano dreams were left off.

As a student of Montreal High, he did several plays with his school’s team and also performed acts at Pine Avenue. After the film Henry V was released in 1944, he was inspired to work after watching Laurence Oliver.

He worked as a junior artist in Canadian Repertory Company located in Ottawa between 1948 and 1950. Chris, as often he is called is a Christian by religion and a Canadian by birth. He belongs to a white ethnicity.

Christopher is a tall man, if not the tallest. His height is about a 179 cm, which is about 5 feet and 10 inches tall. An energetic and attractive young man, he had been in relationships and affairs with some known as well as not so famous women.

He has been married three times; first to actress Tammy Grimes. The couple was married in 1956 and after living together for some years, separated in 1960.

They had a daughter together named Amanda Plummer, who was born on 1957 but was raised by his wife and she never met her father during her childhood and teen days.

He was also rumored to be romantically involved with his 1965 block buster The Sound of Music actress Julie Andrews. After remaining single for a couple of years, Chris was married to a Patricia Lewis, who worked as a journalist.

The couple married on a May of 1962 but couldn’t maintain their relationship for long, separating in 1967.

Currently, he is married to a British actress and dancer named Elaine Taylor, and they live together in a timeworn house in Connecticut.

The couple, who were married in 1968 are still in a very healthy relationship and don’t have any children together. He is a proper man Christopher, and rumors regarding him being sexually gay are all false.

Chris first started in movies from 1958, when he was first cast in Stage Struck. After not appearing again on the screen for six long years, he was featured in The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964). 

Then his next movie was a musical movie named The Sound of Music, which was an Oscar-winning film. Still, after these many years, the film is regarded as one of the best Musical films in Hollywood.

He has appeared in a lots of films till now and some of his hits are: Inside Daisy Clover (1965), The Night of the Generals (cameo as Field Marshal Erwin Rommel) (1967), Oedipus the King (1968), The Royal Hunt of the Sun (1969), Battle of Britain (1970), Waterloo (1970), International Velvet (1978), Murder by Decree (1979), Somewhere in Time (1980), Eyewitness (1981), Dragnet (1987), Shadow Dancing (1988), Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), The New World (2005) and The Lake House (2006). 

Apart from films, he has appeared and contributed his voice to some TV shows like The Thron Birds, Nuremberg, Super Ted, Play date, Miracle Planet, Our fathers, etc.
